Silhouette InstaLift™ Face Thread Lift Procedure at Glosshouz
Lately, have you been thinking you need a little something to restore youth to your facial appearance? Have you thought you could use a bit of lift here and there, but you are not yet ready for a full surgical face lift along with the cutting and all the downtime that come with it? Do you look at your face in the mirror some mornings and use your fingers to hold up your cheeks, lift up your brows, or pull back your jawline while turning this way and that? If so, then we may have just the minimally invasive treatment for you that will provide amazing results!
With the Silhouette Face InstaLift™ Thread Lift procedure, you will come for a 60 mins in-office appointment and walk out with a lifted appearance with little to no downtime.
Who should get a Silhouette InstaLift™ Face Thread Lift?
Silhouette InstaLift™ Face Thread Lift procedure is good for persons who:
Need a lift to the jawline area (for jowls forming)
Need a mid-face lift to treat lines forming from your nose to your mouth or lines down form the corners of your mouth also known as marionette lines
Need more of a “lift” to treat sagging skin instead of a “fill” to replace volume in your face (Note: An optimal treatment plan for the best results may include both an InstaLift™ treatment as well as a volume fill with dermal fillers like Juvederm® and Restylane®. Although, we would provide these in separate appointments about 3 weeks apart.)
Need to treat the neck area to build collagen and lift
Need a lift to the brows due to hooded eyes, or just for aesthetic reasons to open the lids of the eyes more
Do not prefer a surgical facelift procedure which involves cutting the skin
Do not prefer long downtime associated with aesthetic procedures
What is the Silhouette Face InstaLift™ Thread Lift Procedure?
Silhouette Face InstaLift™ Thread Lift is an FDA-cleared non-surgical, in-office procedure. During the procedure we will place completely dissolvable threads in your face to lift and reposition sagging skin of the mid-face, jawline, neck or brows. The treatment yields both immediate and long-lasting results (up to two years). The downtime and risks are minimal. The Face InstaLift™ Thread Lift procedure is about as involved as getting a dermal filler, for example.
The InstaLift™ procedure is focused on lifting the skin and stimulating collagen development in the area where the threads are placed. Silhouette InstaLift™ threads are made from Polyglycolide/L-lactide (PLGA), which has a long history of use as a well-tolerated, absorbable suture. Unlike other barbed or smooth threads out there, the Silhouette InstaLift™
threads include a number of tiny dissolvable knots interspersed with ultra-tiny dissolvable “cones” that are adept at lifting and anchoring the skin tissue. This allows the threads to effectively grip the skin when pulled up, and holds the skin in place thereby producing a noticeable lift to the facial treatment area. Over time, the threads themselves gradually dissolve (about 6-18 months).
Having a Silhouette InstaLift™ takes less than an hour on average.
What should be done to prepare before a Silhouette InstaLift™ Face Thread Lift Procedure?
You are welcome to book a no-charge Medical Spa – Face InstaLift™ Consultation appointment before you book the procedure. During this appointment we will discuss the options for thread placement, the associated cost, and any outstanding questions you may have about the procedure. Typical pricing for InstaLift™ Thread Lift procedures at Glosshouz can be found here. If we have time on the schedule, we may be able to provide your procedure on the same day or book you for another scheduled time.
BEFORE - When you are getting a Face InstaLift™ Thread Lift you will want to be aware of these things:
Don’t drink alcohol the night before a thread lift
Consult with your doctor and determine if you are able to discontinue use of any blood thinning medication or medications such as ibuprofen 1 week before your thread lift
Don’t have other cosmetic procedures for about 3 weeks before the InstaLift™ Thread Lift
Don’t plan other cosmetic procedures for about 3 weeks after the Thread Lift
DURING - These are the steps taken during the Silhouette Face InstaLift™ Thread Lift procedure:
Your nurse provider will discuss your concerns and the treatment options with you to help decide on number of threads and the ideal thread placement.
She will measure and map (draw) out the thread placement on your skin.
Next, the thread entry and exit areas are numbed with local anesthesia (by Lidocaine injection).
The threads are inserted into the skin, with minimal discomfort. You will not feel any pain.
Once placed, the threads are then smoothed and adjusted to secure the lift in place for the best aesthetic.
Your skin is cleansed and now you are ready to enjoy the results.
Over the next 6 – 18 months, your skin will build collagen in the area for more youthful firm appearance.
The threads themselves will dissolve over the next 6 - 18 months.
To maintain results, the procedure, or variations of it may be repeated every 1.5 to 2 years.
AFTER – After the Silhouette InstaLift™ Face Thread Lift Procedure you can expect the following:
Typical downtime for the Face InstaLift™ Thread Lift procedure is minimal. Most people are socially presentable right after the procedure.
It is not uncommon that you may notice some mild inflammation and redness for the next 24-48 hours. While all clients are different, typically you may experience mild soreness and swelling for a few days after having this procedure.
Any pain or soreness can usually be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers (Tylenol).
You will probably be able to return to your normal daily activities within 24 - 48 hours.
Refrain from strenuous workouts or exercise for 48 hours.
Immediately following the procedure, after the skin is cleansed, you will notice your improved results from the InstaLift™ Thread Lift placements. Do not touch your face with unclean hands for at 24 hours. Plan to bring and wear a fresh face covering that is clean after your procedure.
Over time as collagen is built in the area the overall skin should show rejuvenation and improvement.
Cosmetics may be worn around the treatment area by the second day.
As with any cosmetic procedure like BOTOX, dermal filler injections, and including placement of threads like InstaLift, there are potential side effects.
Common side effects for Silhouette InstaLift™ Face Thread Lift procedure include:
Soreness, bruising, and swelling may occur in the treated areas and should dissipate within 3 to 7 days
Immediately following the procedure you may feel an tightness to the skin due to the lifting effect of the threads. The tightness typically resolves within 2 weeks.
After placement, there may be initial skin irregularity or slight depression or dimple that might appear near the entry points. These symptoms should resolve within a few days.
Uncommon side effects may include:
Asymmetry, nerve injury, allergic reaction to the threads themselves, or infection at the treatment area though these are rare.
Though these are rare, the one to watch out for includes infection. If abnormal pain, pus or warmth develops to the treatment area, we should be notified right away.
Note: Assessment of each candidate is required to determine if they will benefit from the procedure. Persons with extremely thick or thin skin may not be ideal candidates.
