Eyelash Extensions FAQ

Wake up with gorgeous lashes every day.

No mascara required!

Have you been wondering...

What are lash extensions? Are they safe? How long does it take to get them? How much does it cost? How long do they last? Do they look real? How do I prepare for a lash appointment? etc. Then scroll below to learn the answers to these questions and more!

What exactly are lash extensions, you wonder... Eyelash extensions are synthetic lash strands that are applied to your own individual top lashes one at a time. When applied properly and safely, the lashes will look thicker, darker, and longer than your own natural lashes. This means you can forego mascara daily!

Are lash extensions safe? Yes. Our stylists undergo rigorous lash extensions training with a focus on safety primarily and application technique. We use medical grade glues and tapes and advanced technology in synthetic lashes. We have various styles of lashes including some that are thicker looking but weigh less! Light weight lashes are best to apply to your own natural lashes, and the bond we use is flexible which ensures the lash extensions are also flexible and not brittle. This ensures that you can wear synthetic lashes for an extended period if you wish, and this should not be damaging to your own natural lashes. When we apply the lash extensions, your eyes will be closed during the application so no glue will get in them. We apply the glue and synthetic lash at about 1 mm close to your lash line, but not on your skin. At Glosshouz, your lashes will be applied always with your safety in mind.

How much do eyelash extensions cost and how long do lash extensions last? Click here to see our eyelash extensions pricing. Typically, lash extensions will last for about a month. Your own natural lash shedding cycle is about one month, so that means you will lose a few lashes each week when your real lashes fall out and new ones start growing in. Some people like to get lashes for a special occasion and let them fall out naturally. Some gals like to keep gorgeous lashes all year long! If that's what you would like to do, we recommend that you get so called "fills" every two or three weeks. When you get fills at Glosshouz the price is based on when you return before 1, 2, 3, or 4 weeks.

How do I take care of my lash extensions? Once lashes are applied you will need to be careful to optimally maintain them. Just following application, do not get your lashes wet for a few hours. Do not use oil-based mascara or oil-based makeup remover on your lashes. Do not tug or pull on your lashes when washing them, but be sure to clean your lashes gently.

What type of style or lashes look should I expect? Glosshouz uses a variety of lash lengths, types and thicknesses to create customized look for each client. During your lash appointment you'll talk to your lash stylist about the look you would prefer. Do you want a natural (but better) look, a cat eye, a flirty wispy look, or a thick glamorous bat your lashes look? All of these are possibilities. Your own lashes quantities may also affect how many lashes you can have applied.

What if I they look terrible on me? Well, first of all, that's not actually happened before. But, if for any reason, you don't prefer your new lashes, we'd remove them for you for no charge. Absolutely. However, we could not give a refund, since we've already performed the service.

What if I have really sensitive eyes or really oily eyelids? Sometimes clients exhibit certain characteristics which means they are not the best candidate to receive or keep eyelash extensions. One thing we're happy to do at Glosshouz, is to perform a sample application. or a sort of "patch test" for no charge! Yep. If you think you may be one of these unlucky clients, just let us know and we'll do a test to see how they fair on you. When we do the test, we'll apply a few lashes on each corner of eye and you'll go home like that. If you have no adverse reactions, we can move forward to apply the whole set in your next appointment. If you want to do a "patch test", you can just book a no-charge "eyelash Extensions Consultation" appointment.

Can I exercise or swim with my eyelash extensions? Yes! Absolutely. Your lashes are bonded with waterproof adhesive, so you are able to wash your face and lashes, swim, shower, exercise etc.How long does it take to apply lash extensions? Applying an initial full set of lashes will take from 90 mins to 2 hours. During this time you will be comfortably reclined on the treatment table with your eyes closed. Some people even fall asleep.

What do I need to do to prepare to get lash extensions? All we ask is that you come in with clean lashes with no mascara. This will save time and then we can concentrate on applying beautiful, full lashes for you during your appointment. If you do have makeup on, we can also help you remove it.

Do I need an appointment? Yes! Lash extensions application typically takes from 90 mins to 2 hrs. So, please call 303-459-4210 to make an appointment - or you can book online at, or on the "Glosshouz" Mobile app (from the app stores)

What happens during a lash appointment? When you arrive for your appointment, let you relax in the relax room. Then we'll bring you to one of our private treatment rooms and you'll get nice and comfy on a treatment table. You'll discuss the look and style of lashes you want - such as glamorous long thick black lashes, flirty wispy natural lashes, cat eye lashes, and so on. Our trained lash stylist wears a mask and gloves for your comfort. She'll tape down your bottom lashes to protect them and clean and prime your lashes to prepare them for extensions. Then, the lashes are meticulously applied one by one to each of your own natural lashes. During the process, you will be very comfortable and may even take a little nap.
