Pros and Cons of Regular, Dazzle Dry, Gel, Dip and now Gel-X!
Regular polish, Dazzle Dry, Gel, Dip and now, Gel-X nail finishes are the most popular types of services to beautify your nails. Most are applied on the same surfaces – your fingernails, however Gel-X our newest extended nails service is applied on a light perfectly shaped nail extension.
They all use different processes and come with different pros and cons.
Regular Polish
Regular polish - a higher quality professional chip-resistant weekly polish lasts 7 - 10 days
Pros -
Beautiful glass finish. Dries in 8 mins. Great colors to choose from. No UV light required. Able to remove easily and then you can pick a new color next week!
Cons -
Chips easier than Shellac/Gel or Dip so it is not as long lasting. Doesn't dry immediately, so might get smudged if you are not careful before it dries.
Gel Polish
Gel Polish - We love gel polish lasting approximately 14 days
Pros -
Beautiful glossy finish. Nails are instantly dry and will not smudge. Fashionable colors to choose from. Soaks off easily (with nail wrap and acetone on a little cotton pad). Stays longer than Vinylux.
Cons -
Requires a UV LED light to cure. Requires soak-off to remove. (can take 10 mins or so) Can be damaging if you try to peel it off yourself!
Dazzle Dry - A healthier regular polish that lasts up to Two Weeks with no soak off required.
Pros -
Regular polish application that lasts up to two weeks. No soaking off, comes off just like regular polish. Good for your nails.
Cons -
Is a bit more cost than regular polish. Not as thick or hard as Gel or Dip.
Dip Powder Polish
Pros -
Beautiful glossy finish. Beautifully-vibrant pigmented powders to choose from. Large range of colors and glitters. No nail drilling required. Nails are dry in a few minutes only and will not smudge. Soaks off (with bowl of acetone in 20 mins). Stays longer than Gel. Chip-resistant for two weeks or longer! No smelly chemicals required. Will enable your own natural nails to grow long and healthy.
Cons -
Takes longer to soak off than Gel (approximately 20 mins)
