PRP Microneedling "Vampire" Facial  $800 - Now $600 (save $200 on your first treatment now, for a limited time)

Your blood is drawn and processed to derive your own concentrated plasma with growth factors. The PRP is typically (optionally) injected into the face to stimulate collagen over time and facial rejuvenation.  Then, the PRP is topically applied to the treatment area and microneedling with a motorized skin pen is performed over the entire face which allows skin penetration of the PRP.  Recommend a series of 4 treatments, one month apart.

MICRONEEDLING & PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Microneedling and PRP Microneedling Services?

Microneedling (no PRP) for Collagen Induction Therapy

Microneedling services at Glosshouz are performed by a certified Esthetician and procedure will take about one hour to perform.  The Microneedling process itself, involves the use of an advanced Automated Fractional Microneedling Device (a motorized skin "pen") that achieves thousands of controlled variable-depth microchannels into the skin in just a few seconds.  The process we use incorporates disposable needle cartridges for a sterilized and safe technique.

The micro-injuries created by the microneedling device work to stimulate the body's natural wound healing processes, resulting in cell turnover and increased collagen and elastin production. This helps to reverse and even prevent the signs of aging. Microneedling basically works the same way lasers do, only the skin is injured mechanically instead of using heat or light. The major benefit is that downtime is minimal.  There may be some pin-prick bleeding during the treatment which is normal and temporary. There may be some mild discomfort during the procedure. Topical anesthetic cream is typically used for tolerance.

Microneedling on your face, neck/chest or other areas is effective for and to treat:

  • helping to stimulate and build collagen

  • fine lines and wrinkles

  • sun damage

  • acne scarring

  • stretch marks

Microneedling can be safely performed on all skin types and ethnicities.  A series of 4 Microneedling procedures four weeks apart is typically recommended for best results.  Your service provider will discuss the procedure with you and determine if you are a good candidate.

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Microneedling - also known as "Vampire Facial"

PRP Microneedling services at Glosshouz are performed by medical professionals (trained nurses).  The appointment typically takes about one hour to complete. PRP Microneedling service incorporates the Microneedling process but includes the additional benefit of applying one's own blood platelet-rich plasma with contains your own concentrated growth factors to the treatment areas for increased efficacy.

Skin rejuvenation with microneedling and PRP is a beneficial procedure.  Old and frayed deformed collagen in your skin is associated with wrinkles, acne scars, other scars, large pores and stretch marks.   Microneedling works to repair damaged skin and can make skin look youthfully thicker, reducing the signs of aging.  The use of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), which is the basis for the “Vampire Facial”, with the microneedling process dramatically improves the results. The reason for this is because growth factors found in concentrated PRP are important for new cell generation and cellular functions, such as creating new collagen and elastic fibers.  Growth factors come in many different varieties and are extremely abundant in our platelets.  The PRP substance (more on what that is below) with growth factors is both injected into your face (optionally) and used in conjunction with the microneedling process which creates micro-channels in your skin. Tiny microneedling punctures allow platelets to enter the skin. Once the platelets are deep in the skin their granules are activated and they induce extra collagen development and new skin cells. This has a profound effect on the skin structure and the capability of our skin to heal itself.

Downtime for this procedure is  minimal. Most people are able to use cosmetics by the second day.   By stacking the microneedling services in a series of four treatments four weeks apart there is an additive effect in collagen production and collagen contraction.

PRP is currently used in the medical field for multiple types of therapy treatments including pain, joint injury and arthritis, hair loss, stretch marks and scar reduction, facial rejuvenation and other things.  When used for facial rejuvenation, PRP improves skin tone and structure, treats and improves acne scarring, treats fine lines and wrinkles, improve stretch marks, and sun damage.

Commonly treated areas include:

  • Crow’s feet beside the eyes

  • Dark circles around the eyes

  • Fine lines around the mouth

  • Acne scars

  • Crepe skin in the eye, neck, and décolletage areas

  • Thinning hair on the scalp or temples for men or women

PRP Microneedling can be safely performed on all skin types and ethnicities.  A series of 4 PRP Microneedling procedures 4 weeks apart is typically recommended for best results.  Your service provider will discuss the procedure with you and determine if you are a good candidate.

What is PRP?

Platelet Rich Plasma, or PRP, is a fraction of your own blood drawn out and spun down to create a concentrated plasma substance with platlets and then reapplied topically and injected to create improved tissue health.

Platelets are very small cells in your blood that are involved in the clotting process. As they organize in the clot they release a number of enzymes to promote healing and tissue responses including attracting stem cells to repair the damaged area. When used in injured or sun- and time-damaged tissue they can induce a remodeling of the tissue to a more healthy and younger state.

What Can It Be Used For?

Platelet Rich Plasma - PRP - can be used in speeding healing of open wounds, in tendon and other musculoskeletal injuries and in problems like arthritis. If you check You Tube and Google for PRP or platelet rich plasma therapy you will encounter many people explaining the technology and the benefits such as orthopedic surgeons, for hair loss treatments and for facial rejuvenation.

PRP can effectively be used to improve skin texture, lines and wrinkles. By placing it into the deeper skin layer fibroblasts and other cells can be stimulated to a more youthful function. Under eye areas and necks can show dramatic improvement. Lines around the lips can also improve.

According to Johns Hopkins Medicine (https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/treatment-tests-and-therapies/plateletrich-plasma-prp-treatment)  "PRP treatments can enhance hair restoration and other cosmetic plastic surgery procedures. The platelets, one type of blood cells, contain growth factors that can trigger cell proliferation, speed healing and stimulate tissue regeneration in the treated area.

  • PRP treatments technique can address male/female pattern baldness, stimulate the growth of hair transplants and enhance other cosmetic procedures.

  • The results of PRP treatment are most noticeable after at least six months, and are not permanent; patients may require touch-up injections at least once a year.

  • Because the treatments use a patient’s own tissues, PRP injections are safe and can be administered alone or used in conjunction with other cosmetic procedures."

Who Will Benefit From It?

Anyone with an open wound or injury, especially taking time to heal will improve speedily with platelet rich plasma therapy, PRP.

Also anyone who is using cosmetic treatments for lines, wrinkles, poorer skin condition and general skin reconditioning can be improved with platelet rich plasma therapy or PRP. Persons who have had problems tolerating products for these sorts of procedures will be encouraged by the fact they are using purely their own cells and tissues. The most dramatic results so far have been in the crepey skin problems in areas such as under eyes, necks and decolletage areas as well as for premature hair thinning, hair loss. PRP is an effective and natural treatment for persons wanting to address thinning hair on the scalp.

How Is It Done?

A tube (or two depending on areas to be treated) are drawn off in much the same way blood is taken for blood testing. The blood sample is spun for around for a period in a centrifuge to produce the platelet rich plasma - PRP.

The PRP is drawn from the tube into a small syringe. A small amount of calcium chloride solution is added to the syringe to stimulate the process. Once mixed in the syringe the platelet rich plasma, PRP, is then injected in the cleaned anaesthetised skin in either small lines or tiny dots in the deeper skin layer.

For a Facial Rejuvenation Treatment, the PRP can be both injected into areas of the face and also microneedled topically into the facial skin.  For Hair Restoration Treatment, small amounts of the PRP are injected into the thinning hair area in a 1 cm pattern on the scalp or temples or other area as needed.

For facial rejuvenation or for hair restoration improvements platelet rich plasma is instilled into the same areas for four sessions usually spaced around 4 weeks apart.

How Many Treatments Are Required?

For cosmetic applications for face or for hair loss treatment, four treatments are recommended. Platelet rich plasma, PRP, treatments for facial rejuvenation or hair restoration are typically completed about 4 weeks apart.

How Quickly Do The Results Show?

To those people wanting improvement in skin texture and structure, they may be aware within a week of some early changes. But the effect and improvement is also a gradual process with changes continuing to show for three to six months after the treatment with the platelet rich plasma, PRP.  For Hair Restoration treatments, the effects can start to be seen 3-4 weeks after the first treatment.

How Long Does It Last?

The effect has been shown to last about two years. This can be different for different people.

Can The Treatment Be Repeated over time?

As you are using your ownPRP tissue there is no problem with continued use. Some people elect to do a single session each year to boost and lengthen the effect of the initial group of treatments.

Are There Side Effects?

Since the patient is using their own biological material there is virtually no risk of allergic or other adverse reaction to the PRP.   After the procedure, there may be a short-lasting pinkness or quite a redness of the skin following injection of the platelet rich plasma - PRP. Bruising is also a possibility. Flaking or sloughing of the skin is also common a couple of days after the Microneedling procedure.  Most people are able to return to work the following day (with a little makeup applied).  All side effects may take a week or so to resolve.
