What is QWO?
QWO is a prescription medicine used to treat cellulite in adult women.
FDA-approved in 2020, QWO is a non-surgical treatment clinically proven to reduce moderate to severe cellulite. The treatment protocol includes 3 treatments spaced 3 weeks apart by injecting the product into the dermis where the cellulite dimples appear.
What is the treatment process?
Treatment is done in office by our cosmetic nurse injector.
After photo-documenting the treatment area, you lie face down on the treatment table and receive injections directly in the center of the cellulite dimples (treatment takes 5 - 10 mins).
QWO targets collagen types 1 and 3 fibrous bands which are tethering the dermis and causing the cellulite appearance outside the skin. By un-tethering those bands (in a series of 3 easy treatments spaced 3 weeks apart), the skin is able to smooth over thereby getting rid of the cellulite dimple(s).
Expected side-effects include:
bruising (84% of patients)
soreness (48% of patients)

QWO FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
What is QWO®?
QWO is the first and only FDA-approved injectable for moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks of adult women.
What are results with QWO®?
Visible results may be achieved in 10 weeks (two and half months). In clinical studies, women received 3 treatments of QWO, each 21 days apart.
How is QWO® given and what does it feel like?
QWO is injected by your aesthetic specialist directly into targeted dimples in the buttocks using a small needle. It feels kind of like a BOTOX poke! However, it does not sting and the pain is gone immediately after.
You should not receive QWO if you are allergic to QWO or have an active infection in the treatment area.
See Important Safety Information below.
How many treatments will I receive?
If your aesthetic specialist determines that QWO is right for you, she will decide on one of two packages for you (Mini or Full treatment plan), including total number of treatments.
Each treatment visit may include buttocks or thighs treatment areas. QWO injections will be given 21 days apart for 3 treatment visits.
How long do QWO the injections take?
At each office visit, the actual injections take as little as 5 minutes. Most appointment time (45 mins) is spent talking about your aesthetic needs and what to expect.
Are there any side effects?
The most common side effects of QWO include: injection site bruising (84% of patients), pain or soreness, areas of hardness, itching, redness, discoloration, swelling and warmth in the treatment area. It is common that these side effects last just a few days, but the bruising takes 2-3 weeks to resolve typically in between your treatments.
QWO may rarely cause serious side effects including allergic (hypersensitivity) reactions, including anaphylaxis. These are not all the possible side effects of QWO. See QWO® Safety Information below.
How much bruising can I expect with QWO?
The bruising from QWO Injections is significant and expected. However, in clinical trials, women required no post-treatment downtime. Subsequent treatments bruising lessened after each treatment and resolved in less than 21 days.
How does QWO® work?
The enzymes in QWO—called collagenases—target a structural cause under your skin of collagen bands that are in effect tethering your skin below.
It's thought that QWO works in 3 ways: releasing fibrous bands, redistributing fat cells, and stimulating the growth of new collagen in the area.
